ABOUT COMMUNITY CENTRES SA
Community Centres SA is a peak body with over 200 members and approximately 18 staff. Our role is to support, build workforce capacity and advocate for best practice community development across our State which we have been doing for nearly 40 years. Our members include many community service organisations, and also over 100 Community and Neighbourhood Centres who nurture over 35,000 weekly participants. People come to Community Centres to connect up with others, to learn, and to participate in a wide range of services and activities. Our values are focused on inclusivity, empowerment, community participation, diversity and collaboration.
ABOUT THE POSITIONS
CCSA’s Board is comprised of a passionate and dedicated group of individuals who volunteer their time and bring diverse skillsets to the strategic governance of the organisation. We are seeking purpose-driven leaders who are committed to making a real difference to our sector and to lead our organisation into the future. People with financial skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
Board terms are for two years and existing Board members are able to re-nominate for a two year term, up to three terms. Board Membership comprises of 9 positions.
Up to 4 positions are held by “Community or Neighbourhood House or Centre” Members.
• Up to 3 positions are held by “Community Connector” Members, or “Honorary” Members or “Friends” Members.
• Up to 2 positions are held by Independents.
There are currently four Board positions up for nomination or re-nomination by existing Board members.
• Two Positions – Community or Neighbourhood Houses or Centres Member
• Two Positions – Independent Members
